Most data centers suffer power outages that last for a few seconds; severe damages can occur if the batteries in the UPS infrastructure fail. Downtime can cost up to $500,000 per hour for data center operators. For example, Delta Airlines suffered a loss of around $150 million owing to a power outage caused by infrastructure failure in the data center, affecting airline services for almost up to three days.
